• Beechworth hears Yackandandah’s golden guitarist

    YACKANDANDAH’S Peter Denahy had good reason to celebrate Australia Day when he performed at Beechworth’s Hotel Nicholas yesterday.

    The talented singer and instrumentalist won two ‘Golden Guitars’ at the Tamworth Country Music Festival last weekend.

    One of the coveted awards was for instrumentals and the other was for his recently released bluegrass recording and 10th album of the year titled ‘Singin’ Shoes’.

    Peter has been a regular performer at Tamworth for 18 years and has already won three ‘Golden Guitars’.

    “I love going to this festival, the atmosphere and the music is fantastic,” he said.
