BEECHWORTH’S Bushranger seniors were looking to make it three in a row on Saturday following back-to-back wins in the Tallangatta and District Football League.
And the team did it, running up 22.18 (150) over Dederang Mount Beauty 11.3 (69).
Dayne Carey started the goal feast and ended up with four goals, John Forbes and Brayden Carey were racking up the possessions in the midfield.
Warwick Williams was all class in the last quarter with four last quarter goals (five in total), and even Kayde Surrey snuck forward to end up with two goals.
This week The Bushrangers take on Thurgoona as favourite son Brayden Carey plays his 150th senior game.
The reserves headed up to Dederang and defeated the home team 14.9 (93) to 8.6 (54).
It was a good win, with a good team effort. That’s two in a row now and the boys are looking forward to next week’s game against Thurgoona.
The U17s sought to continue the seniors’ form but were defeated by Dederang Mount Beauty 24.14 (158) to Beechworth 1.3 (9).
It was a tough day for all involved but well done to all players, volunteers and supporters for showing great support for the team.
