TOURISM North East marketing manager Susannah Doyle is to become Indigo Shire Council’s new tourism manager.

She has been appointed full-time to the position previously held by Clayton Neil – who has become strategic projects manager for the Beechworth-based Australian Centre for Rural Entrepreneurship.

Ms Doyle has extensive experience in strategic marketing and communications and was executive officer at North East Victoria Tourism – the forerunner to TNE – from 2007 to 2011.

She afterwards worked as High Country Collective project manager for the Great Victorian Rail Trail before becoming Indigo council’s tourism and economic development manager in a six-month relief role.

At TNE, where she has worked for a little more than two years, Ms Doyle has led regional tourism marketing for the High Country, which includes the municipalities of Indigo, Towong, Alpine, Wangaratta, Benalla and Mansfield and the Victoria’s three main alpine resorts.

Indigo council said she was selected from a very strong candidate pool and was “an ideal appointment”.

    She starts on April 18.
