Award-winning garden designer funds first tree for Yackandandah Health’s CARE Sanctuary

DESIGNER and creator of two award-winning gardens at the United Kingdom’s famed Chelsea Flower Show, Yackandandah’s John Labram, has been the first to donate funds for a tree to be planted at Yackandandah Health’s CARE Sanctuary.

The sanctuary – part of the aged-care residential organisation’s mission for on-going development of community-owned intergenerational living and local community engagement projects – will build community cohesion and improve well-being through connections with animals, gardens and education.

Mr Labram who had a garden design business in England before a move to Australia 12 years ago, is one of 10 community members with expertise in the sanctuary working group where he is assisting with design skills and knowledge.
