THE value of community philanthropy, giving back and giving local were key topics at the Beechworth Festival of Change session held on Tuesday night.

Non-profit leaders, local community groups and change advocates attended the free public talk to hear International Community Foundation and wealth transfer expert Brian Frederick share his experiences on how rural and regional communities can build their own philanthropic assets for their long term future.

Mr Frederick spoke to a crowd of over 80 people about the imminent opportunities for North East communities due to a $3 trillion intergenerational wealth transfer which will take place over the next 30 years in Australia between baby boomers and their children and heirs.
