LOCAL police have indicated low levels of crime in the Beechworth area for the last two months except for Chiltern where incidents have spiked since earlier this year.
Beechworth’s Police Sergeant Mal Clarke said the community should remain diligent at all times with an awareness of both neighbourhood as well as individual surroundings for their personal safety.
“Report anything suspicious in unusual behaviour or activity,” he said.
