LOCALS had the chance to hear magnificent sounds of peals from Christ Church’s six-bell tower last Thursday afternoon by some of the world’s best bell ringers from a 400-year-old society in London.
Beechworth bell ringer Graeme Heyes said the group from the Ancient Society of College Youths founded in 1637 in London is on a bell ringing tour travelling around Australia for about three weeks.
